Border mapping multi-resolution (BMMR) technique for incompressible projection-based particle methods

چکیده

A novel multi-resolution technique called border mapping (BMMR) is proposed for projection-based particle methods. The BMMR aims to obtain background equivalent distributions in the two sides of a between sub-domains with 2:1 resolution ratio so that single framework adopted near-border particles calculations. novelty it obtains grid from actual distribution and, as result, location exactly matches particles. In this way, such reduce error interpolation physical quantities and avoid sudden changes may lead unstable local pressure calculation. coarse side border, refinement made by triangulation placing fictitious midpoints triangles. fine derefinement defining set result best resembles one. accuracy computational performance implemented moving semi-implicit (MPS) simulation system are verified using benchmark test cases 2D free surface flows.

Velocity-Correction Projection Methods for Incompressible Flows

We introduce and study a new class of projection methods—namely, the velocitycorrection methods in standard form and in rotational form—for solving the unsteady incompressible Navier–Stokes equations. We show that the rotational form provides improved error estimates in terms of the H1-norm for the velocity and of the L2-norm for the pressure. We also show that the class of fractional-step meth...

Accuracy of Projection Methods for the Incompressible Navier-Stokes Equations

Numerous papers have appeared in the literature over the past thirty years discussing projection-type methods for solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. A recurring difficulty encountered is the proper choice of boundary conditions for the auxiliary variables in order to obtain at least second order accuracy in the computed solution. A further issue is the formula for the pressure ...

Projection Methods for the Calculation of Incompressible Unsteady Flows

A general formula for the second-order projection method for solution of unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations is presented. It includes the fourand three-step projection methods. Also, RKCN (Runge-Kutta=Crank-Nicholson) three-step and four-step projection methods are presented, in which the three-stage Runge-Kutta and semi-implicit Crank-Nicholson techniques are employed to update th...
